Dome table clock in cloisonné enamel.
This unique piece in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel celebrates the poetic beauty of the Frisian Islands, a coastal archipelago stretching from the northern Netherlands and north-west Germany down to southern Denmark.
To create the contours of these gentle landscapes and their flora and fauna, including the seashells, seals and sandpipers, the enameler used 38 m of gold wire (42.3 g) measuring 0.15 x 0.6 mm in cross-section. To reproduce the shifting colors and luminosity of the wide skies and the sandy beaches and dunes punctuated by lighthouses, he worked with a palette of transparent, opaque and opalescent enamels in 38 colors. Each enameled plate required 9 firings at a temperature of approximately 840°C. An hour circle adorned with black enameled Breguet numerals frames a dial center in guilloched copper beneath transparent enamel.
This piece is powered by the caliber 17’’’ PEND mechanical movement rewound by an electric motor.
