Minute Repeaters – the book

“In the realm of haute horlogerie, any mention of minute repeaters is automatically and spontaneously associated with the name Patek Philippe. It is no coincidence that collectors, aficionados, and connoisseurs of complicated watches establish a link between the brand and this extraordinary mechanism. The second part of the book presents in detail a number of legendary Patek Philippe chiming watches, among them the commemorative Calibre 89 and Star Caliber 2000 masterpieces. (...)

Enameling

Enameling, often used by Patek Philippe to decorate cases and dials, is one of the most high-risk of the rare handcrafts. The precarious fusing of powdered glass at ultra-high temperatures can produce heartbreaking disasters but, when successful, the result is luminous beauty, from designs in radiant, jewel-bright colors that will never dull, to lustrous, gently traditional looks.
