Self-winding

Set of three Calatrava wristwatches with dials in miniature painting on enamel.

“Rhododendrons”, “Primroses” and “Mimosa”: to depict three of the most delicate flowers in detail, in all their fresh beauty, this limited edition gives pride of place to the exacting technique of miniature painting on enamel.

Starting with a base layer of white enamel, the artist built up the portrait in small deft touches, using a tiny brush and working with a palette of opaque enamels in from 7 to 9 colors depending on the watch. Each dial required 8 to 10 firings at temperatures ranging from 670°C to 690°C.

The bezel and the lugs are set with 112 brilliant-cut Top Wesselton Pure diamonds (~0.8 ct) and the prong buckle sparkles with 29 diamonds (~0.22 ct). The white-gold case houses the caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement, which may be admired through the sapphire-crystal back. These watches are worn on hand-stitched shiny alligator straps with large square scales in colors that match the dials’ decorations.
