The famous whirling dervishes and their mystical dances evoking planets orbiting the sun inspired the hand-engraved decoration on this unique piece in white gold.

The dervishes’ caps, belts and boots and the Arabic calligraphy adorning the clock panels (93 elements) were all created by damascening, an ancient technique in which fillets of metal – in this case rose gold – are inlaid in another metal by hammering. This watch is unusual in that some of the details are damascened in relief. The border of the case back, the bezel, the bow and the crown are handengraved with a pattern in the oriental style. In total, the engraving and damascening required some 500 hours of work. The dial, in white enamel over white gold, presents rose-gold applied Breguet numerals and white- and rose-gold hand-engraved leaf-shaped hands.

This pocket watch is accompanied by a white-gold handcrafted stand on a white spangled marble base set with a briolette-cut red spinel cabochon (0.34 ct).

It houses the caliber 17’’’ LEP PS manually wound movement with small seconds.
