Patek Philippe is expanding its website patek.com with a new section dedicated to enthusiasts of mechanical virtuosity and to everyone keen on exploring the secrets of haute horlogerie. Its name: Patek Philippe TechNews.
It was developed in collaboration with watchmaker Ron DeCorte, who is specialized in complications. Focused on clarity, simplicity, and eloquence, the section features videos that explain the design and functionality of the most refined horological mechanisms created by the manufacture’s watchmakers and engineers.
The TechNews section kicks off with a description of various grand complication mechanisms of the Ref. 6002 Sky Moon Tourbillon, including the perpetual calendar with a retrograde date, the minute repeater, the tourbillon, and the moving celestial chart.
In the course of the year, regularly posted videos will dwell on a wide range of topics, highlighting the calibers and functions of timepieces in the current collection (chronographs, chiming watches, Travel Time, World Time watches, etc.) – not to mention the trailblazing innovations of the Patek Philippe Advanced Research department.
In addition to the patek.com website, these presentations will also be published via Patek Philippe’s official YouTube and Vimeo channels and, selectively as excerpts, on the @patekphilippe Instagram account as well.
At Patek Philippe, every complication, no matter how elaborate it may be, must be easy to use for the owner.
With this new Patek Philippe TechNews section, the manufacture is taking yet another step that gives a broader audience access to the secrets of mechanical horology and the functions of Patek Philippe timepieces.
The rendezvous is scheduled for December 18 at 18:39 Geneva time on patek.com, on our YouTube and Vimeo channels, and on the Instagram account @patekphilippe.
