White Owl

The softness of the predator This limited edition of ten watches in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel presents an owl, symbol of wisdom and clairvoyance for the ancient Greeks, depicted here after a work by a famous French painter of animals. To reproduce the contours of this nocturnal raptor, the enameller worked with about 40 cm of gold wire (~0.17 g). He then called on his great mastery of contrasts to make this white bird stand out on a white ground, using a palette of 17 enamel colors, mainly transparent, but with some opaque or opalescent. Last, he applied 6 colors of miniature painting on enamel to convey the downy softness of the plumage. Each dial called for some 15 firings at temperatures above 800°C. The white-gold Golden Ellipse case contains a solid case back and harmonious proportions inspired by the ancient golden section. The hours and minutes are displayed by cheveu-style hands, stamped in white gold. This iconic watch houses a caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement. The alligator leather strap in shiny taupe is endowed with a prong buckle in white gold reflecting the elliptical shape of the case.
