Setting your watch

To ensure the proper functioning of your watch, we invite you to set it according to the instructions provided in the user guide. After each manipulation, please make sure that the winding crown and pushers, where applicable, are positioned back in place and screwed down sufficiently.

The importance of servicing

Maintenance

Whether your watch eventually needs to be overhauled, repaired, or restored, having it regularly serviced is essential for assuring its longevity. Quartz and mechanical watches with manually wound and self-winding movements should be serviced every eight to ten years through an official Service Center or Authorized Retailer.

Manual movements

A manually wound watch should preferably be wound every morning. This makes it possible to optimize the operation of the movement during the day and reduce sensitivity to shocks and variations in position. Regular maintenance is also essential to keep the movement functioning smoothly over time.

Automatic movements

Self-winding movements have a power reserve of between 38 and 48 hours (except for some specific models). If the watch has been set aside or stopped running for a period of time, it can be manually wound with a few gentle turns of the crown until it starts again.

Quartz movements

The battery life of a quartz movement lasts from two to three years. To replace the battery in your quartz watch, we invite you to visit one of our official Service Centers or an Authorized Retailer that can carry out "Essential Maintenance"

Ensuring the Longevity of your Watch

To ensure the longevity and performance of your watch, we recommend that you avoid as much as possible subjecting it to shocks, prolonged vibrations or extreme temperature changes, and exposure to magnetic fields.

If exposed to magnetism, visit an official Service Center or Authorized Retailer for demagnetization to restore it to normal operation. Proper care will help maintain the watch precision and functionality.

Water Resistance

We invite you to verify if your watch is water-resistant by consulting the relevant user guide. As part of the Patek Philippe Seal, and in compliance with the Swiss watch industry NIHS 92-20 standard, we guarantee that clients can engage in the following day-to-day activities while wearing a water-resistant Patek Philippe watch : washing hands, showering, bathing, swimming and other aquatic activities, including diving to a depth of 30m - which corresponds in large measure to actual utilization.

We also suggest that you do not use the function controls (pushers, correctors, time setting crown) underwater or when the watch is still wet.

Leather Straps

Leather straps can age prematurely in contact with water or when exposed to excessive sunlight. Watches with leather straps should be taken off at night to allow the leather to breathe. Please note that leather straps are not covered under the terms of the warranty.

Metal bracelets

To avoid premature wear, please make sure the metal strap of your watch is adjusted to the correct wrist size. To preserve the bracelet and the case, avoid wearing jewelry on the same wrist as the watch that could cause additional wear to the bracelet. Furthermore, rinse the watch with clean water after each contact with salt water or chlorinated pool water.
