Baroque Decoration

Vaults and dormer windows This limited edition of six wristwatches in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel reproduces a detail of the paintings and ceilings of Venaria Palace, a masterpiece of baroque architecture, built in 1675 near Turin for the royal family of Savoy. The enameller traced all the contours of the architecture using about 1 meter of gold wire (~0.68 g). He then highlighted the arches and the oculus with transparent, opaque and opalescent enamels in a palette of 20 colors. Miniature painting on enamel, worked with minute attention to detail, recalls the delicate beauty of the palace ornaments. Each dial required about 12 firings at temperatures exceeding 800°C. The white-gold case contains a solid case back and harmonious proportions inspired by the ancient golden section. The hours and minutes are displayed by cheveu-style hands, stamped in white gold. This watch houses a caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement. The alligator leather strap in shiny mauve is secured by a prong buckle in white gold reflecting the elliptical shape of the case
