Legendary Castle

On the banks of Loch Ness This limited edition of fifteen watches in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel depicts Urquhart Castle, built in the thirteenth century on a rocky promontory overlooking the famous Loch Ness. It is one of the largest fortresses in Scotland and the one most frequently visited. The outlines of the building overrun by the vegetation surrounding the lake called for about 40 cm of gold wire (~0.27 g). Rendering the typical Scottish atmosphere with its somber, mysterious tints required an opulent palette of transparent, opalescent and opaque enamels in 41 colors. The enameller then worked with miniature painting on enamel in 4 colors, reproducing in fine detail the clouds, the mist rising from the lake and the lapping of the waves. Each dial underwent 11 firings at a temperature of 820°C. The white-gold case contains a solid case back and harmonious proportions inspired by the ancient golden section. The hours and minutes are displayed by cheveu-style hands, stamped in white gold. This watch houses a caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement. The grained taurillon leather strap, in a coffee shade, is endowed with a prong buckle in white gold reflecting the elliptical shape of the case.
