A bucolic sunset The decoration on this limited edition of ten wristwatches with dials in wood marquetry depicts the sun at the close of day, setting the sky alight over a village in Tuscany. A vision of rural tranquility and invitation to travel. For this faithful rendition of the village, the countryside and the subtle tints of the reddening sky at dusk, the marquetry-maker cut out and assembled 203 tiny veneer parts and 75 even smaller inlays, together spanning a palette of 57 species of wood in soft colors and different textures and veining. The rose-gold case contains a solid case back and harmonious proportions inspired by the ancient golden section. The hours and minutes are displayed by cheveu-style hands, stamped in rose gold. This watch houses a caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement. The calfskin strap in a “gold” shade recalls the tradition and expertise that distinguish Italian fine leatherwork. The prong buckle in rose gold takes up the elliptical shape of the case.
