A jubilant population This limited edition of three watches in yellow gold reproduces a section of “Qingming Festival on the Banks of the River”, a Chinese painting on a scroll 11.5 meters long, here in a version dating from 1736. This monumental work by the artist Zhang Zeduan produced in the 12th century has been copied countless times over the years. The dial was first hand-engraved with a pattern of wavelets, before being coated with translucent blue enamel, creating the illusion of a river in motion. This decoration was then adorned with 8 colors of miniature painting on enamel to pick out the details of the people and architectural features in the original work, bringing the scene to life with extraordinary precision. The painting was then protected and its colors intensified with several layers of flux, a transparent enamel. Each dial required an average of 15 firings at temperatures ranging from 780°C to 830°C. The yellow-gold Golden Ellipse case contains a solid case back and harmonious proportions inspired by the ancient golden section. The hours and minutes are displayed by cheveu-style hands, stamped in yellow gold. This iconic watch houses a caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement. The alligator leather strap in shiny green is endowed with a prong buckle in yellow gold reflecting the elliptical shape of the case.
