A hand-engraved enamel dial
The timeless design of the Golden Ellipse is associated with the refined touch of Rare Handcrafts in a timepiece with a highly original face. The 18K gold dial plate is first hollowed out to form the cavities destined to receive the black Grand Feu enamel (champlevé enamel). The gold areas left in relief are then hand-engraved with plant-life and floral motifs.
Inspired by the golden section, the shape and proportions of the Golden Ellipse have been iconic since its introduction in 1968
A very elegant timepiece thanks to its extremely slender case (6.58 mm) and the ultra-thin self-winding 240 caliber (2.53 mm)
