The beauty of the bougainvillea This limited edition of six watches in white gold depicts the Bay of Naples at sunset, lit by the radiant pink of the bougainvillea flowers. The dial was first adorned with hand-executed guilloché work presenting a wavy motif and coated with translucent enamel through which the decoration may be seen, according to the traditional technique of flinqué enameling. The enameller then traced the contours of the flowers, the pines and the Bay of Naples in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel, using about 48 cm of gold wire (~0.19 g). Next, he introduced a palette of transparent, opaque and semi-opaque enamels in an extraordinary 84 colors, playing with gradations to bathe his decor in the reddening glow of dusk. Details such as the yacht, the gradations in the sky and the bougainvillea petals were refined with 15 colors of miniature painting on enamel. Each dial required from 7 to 8 firings at temperatures ranging from 750°C to 840°C. The bezel and lugs are set with 112 diamonds (~0.87 ct) and the prong buckle in white gold sparkles with 29 diamonds (~0.24 ct). Dauphine-type hands in white gold indicate the time. An alligator-leather strap in shiny fuchsia pink takes up the color palette of the dial. This watch is endowed with a caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement that may be admired through a sapphire crystal case back.
