Lemon trees in the sun This limited edition of six watches in yellow gold depicts lemon trees in the enchanted setting of the “Faraglioni di Capri”, the rock formations surging out of the sea and visible from the Amalfi coast. The dial was decorated with a wavy motif in hand-executed guilloché work and coated with translucent enamel, through which the decoration may be seen, according to the traditional technique of flinqué enameling. The enameller then laid down the contours of the citrus fruit, the trees and the countryside in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel, using about 40 cm of gold wire (~0.15 g). To bring the scene to life and convey a sense of depth by subtle shading effects, he worked with a palette of transparent, opaque and semi-opaque enamels in 30 colors. Details such as the reflections on the water and the texture of the lemon peel owe their finesse to 9 additional colors of miniature painting on enamel. Each dial underwent from 8 to 9 firings at temperatures ranging from 750°C to 820°C. The bezel and lugs are set with 112 diamonds (~0.87ct) and the prong buckle in yellow gold sparkles with 29 diamonds (~0,24 ct). Dauphine-type hands in yellow gold indicate the time. An alligator leather strap in shiny blue takes up the color palette of the dial. This watch is endowed with a caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement, which may be admired through a sapphire crystal case back.
