Pink Typography

Stylized lettering This limited edition of ten watches in rose gold draws inspiration from a triple-complication hunter pocket watch endowed with a minute repeater, jumping seconds and a second time zone. When unveiled, at the 1867 Paris Exposition, it was the most complicated timepiece ever produced by the Manufacture. The engraver began work by carving the words “Patek Philippe Genève” into the dial plate, using a typography inspired by the stylized letters engraved on the back of the historic pocket watch that served as his model. The enameller then filled the cavities in the decoration with enamels in two colors, one transparent and one opaque, applied in several layers according to the technique of champlevé enameling. After firing the enamelwork, he called on his great skill in the art of engraving to structure the lettering, emphasizing the impression of volume in the characters. Each dial required about 10 firings at temperatures ranging from 665°C to 670°C. The bezel and lugs are set with 112 brilliant-cut diamonds (~0.87 ct) and the prong buckle in rose gold sparkles with 29 diamonds (~0.24 ct). Dauphine-style hands in rose gold indicate the time. The granulated calfskin strap, in peony pink with salmon stitching, takes up the color palette of the dial and is secured by a prong buckle in rose gold. This watch is endowed with a caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement, which may be admired through a sapphire crystal back.
