Amalfi Escapade

Balcony with a sea view This limited edition of six watches in white gold captures the most iconic of Italian cars navigating the famous bends in the cliff-hugging roads overlooking the Amalfi coast. The outlines of the landscape and the details of the little car in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel called for about 43 cm of gold wire (~0.29 g). The enameller then succeeded in rendering all the subtle nuances of the vegetation and the sky, working with transparent and opaque enamels in a lavish palette of 35 colors. Miniature painting on enamel in a further 32 colors conjured up the billowing effect of the clouds, the gradations of green in the sea and the scene’s fascinating illusion of depth. Each dial required about 9 firings at a temperature of 830°C. The bezel is adorned with the famous Clous de Paris or hobnail pattern emblematic of the Manufacture’s style. Dauphine-type hands in white gold indicate the time. An alligator leather strap in shiny turquoise secured by a prong buckle in white gold takes up the color palette of the dial. This watch is endowed with a caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement, which may be admired through a sapphire crystal case back.
