Arrival in Como

A lakeside paradise This limited edition of six watches in rose gold depicts the arrival of the car that symbolizes the dolce vita in the enchanted setting of Lake Como, bordered with brightly colored houses. To trace all the contours of the houses’ windows and the little car’s bodywork in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel the enameller laid down about 60 cm of gold wire (~0.39 g). He then brought his picture to life with a palette of transparent, opaque and opalescent enamels in an opulent 40 colors. A further 17 colors of miniature painting on enamel brought out the ripples on the lake’s surface and the slight haze in the sky above the green hills, lending the scene a sense of depth. Each enameled plate called for about 12 firings at a temperature of 830°C. The bezel is adorned with the famous Clous de Paris or hobnail pattern emblematic of the Manufacture’s style. Dauphine-type hands in rose gold indicate the time. An alligator leather strap in shiny coral secured by a prong buckle in rose gold takes up the color palette of the dial. This watch is endowed with a caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement, which may be admired through a sapphire crystal case back.
