Blue Peacock

Nuptial wheel This limited edition of ten watches in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel presents a blue peacock, a symbol of grace and beauty famous for its wheel, or display of its train feathers, during the nuptial dance. To reproduce the outlines of the feathers and the eyespots (ocelli), the enameller laid down about 69.4 cm of gold wire (~0.47 g). For the wealth of detail required on this complex composition, he then assembled a palette of 30 enamel colors, mainly transparent, but with some opaque or semi-opaque. Hand-engraving conjured up the iridescent reflections in the plumage and emphasized the sense of movement. Each dial underwent from 11 to 12 firings at temperatures ranging from 800°C to 850°C. The white-gold Golden Ellipse case contains a solid case back and harmonious proportions inspired by the ancient golden section. The hours and minutes are displayed by cheveu-style hands, stamped in white gold. This iconic watch houses a caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement. The alligator leather strap in shiny green is endowed with a prong buckle in white gold reflecting the elliptical shape of the case.
