A field of parasols This limited edition of six watches in rose gold presents a seaside scene on the Isle of Capri, bathed by the sun and the turquoise waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The dial was first adorned with hand-executed guilloché work in a wavy pattern and coated with translucent enamel through which the decoration may be seen, according to the traditional technique of flinqué enameling. The enameller then traced the contours of all the rocks in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel, using about 41 cm of gold wire (~0.27 g). Next, working with a palette of transparent, opaque, semi-opaque and opalescent enamels in 22 colors, he played on gradations and contrasts to conjure up a truly evocative seaside atmosphere. Details such as the parasols, the holidaymakers and the foam on the waves owe their finesse to miniature painting on enamel in a further 10 colors. Each dial required from 15 to 20 firings at temperatures ranging from 800 to 840°C. The bezel and lugs are set with 112 diamonds (~0.87 ct) and the prong buckle in rose gold sparkles with 29 diamonds (~0.24 ct). Dauphine-type hands in rose gold indicate the time. An alligator leather strap in shiny turquoise blue takes up the color palette of the dial. This watch is endowed with a caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement that may be admired through a sapphire crystal case back.
