Iridescent wader This limited edition of ten watches in rose gold gives center stage to a white-faced ibis, a species of wading bird frequenting the brackish fresh-water marshes of North and Central America, as well as the southern half of South America. The complex motif of the plumage in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel called for about 57 cm of gold wire (~0.23 g). To conjure up the variegated tints of the wader’s feathers the enameller then worked with a palette of semi-opaque, transparent and opaque enamels in 57 colors, before accentuating this splendid display of gradations and plays of light and shade with 6 colors of miniature painting on enamel. Each dial underwent about 9 firings at temperatures ranging from 780°C to 840°C. The bezel, lugs and prong buckle are set with 77 sapphires ranging from yellow to purple (~0.66 ct), 45 amethysts (~0.29 ct) and 19 rhodolites (~0.26 ct). Dauphine-style hands in rose gold indicate the time. An alligator leather strap in shiny royal purple takes up the color palette of the dial. This watch houses a caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement, which may be admired through a sapphire crystal case back.
