A Trip to Puglia

The splendor of the trulli This limited edition of six watches in white gold features Italy’s most popular car passing through a hamlet of trulli, the rural constructions typical of the Puglia region. Tracing the outlines of the car and the landscape in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel called for about 47 cm of gold wire (~0.29 g). A master of gradations, the enameller then produced relief effects in the trees and the little car, using transparent, opaque and opalescent enamels in 28 colors. The decor of dry-stone roofs and clouds stretching across the sky owes its finesse to 13 colors of miniature painting on enamel. Each dial underwent about 12 firings at a temperature of 820°C. The bezel is adorned with the famous Clous de Paris or hobnail pattern emblematic of the Manufacture’s style. Dauphine-type hands in white gold indicate the time. An alligator leather strap in shiny dark blue secured by a prong buckle in white gold takes up the color palette of the dial. This watch is endowed with a caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement, which may be admired through a sapphire crystal case back.
