Matador

Suit of lights This limited edition of twenty watches in yellow gold reproduces the sumptuous gold and black embroidery that illuminates the matador’s traje de luces or “suit of lights”. The engraver began by chasing the top layer of the dial to produce a silky texture that would form the backdrop. He then modeled the decorative elements representing the embroidery using a dry-point needle to etch fine lines in the metal recalling the softness and sheen of the gold threads. An onglette graver reproduced the stitching at the center of the decor, adding a delicate brilliance to the whole. The dial’s intense black background evokes the strong contrasts typical of the traditional costumes and brings out all the richness of these ornaments. The bezel is adorned with the famous Clous de Paris or hobnail pattern emblematic of the Manufacture’s style. Pierced dauphine-style hands in yellow gold indicate the time. This Reference is accompanied with two straps, the first in red grained calfskin and the second in black grained calfskin, both secured by a yellow gold prong buckle. This watch houses a caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement, which may be admired through a sapphire crystal case back.
