The enchanted musician This limited edition of ten watches in rose gold presents a mariachi musician, an essential feature of the Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead, who lends his frenetic rhythm to this typically Mexican festival. The dial was first hand-guilloched with a circular and geometric decoration, destined to remain visible through coats of translucent enamel, according to the technique of flinqué enameling. The enameller next traced all the contours of the skeleton’s skull and the rose that it holds between its teeth in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel, requiring about 68 cm of gold wire (~ 0.46 g). He then brought the cloisons to life with transparent, opaque and semi-opaque enamels in 37 colors. The lavish attention to gradations and shading effects lends a striking realism to this fantastic festival character. Each dial called for between 12 and 14 firings at temperatures ranging from 800°C to 840°C. The bezel is adorned with the famous Clous de Paris or hobnail pattern emblematic of the Patek Philippe style. Dauphine-style hands in rose gold indicate the time. A calfskin strap in brown with a vintage finish and turquoise stitching, secured by a prong buckle in rose gold, takes up the color scheme of the dial. This watch is endowed with a caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement, which may be admired through a sapphire crystal case back.
